Where are the Foundations for a Democratic Future for Colombia?

Recorded during the two day workshop, "A Non-Negotiated Solution to the Colombian Conflict?", this panel discussion focuses on democracy in Colombia and the challenges that are posed by armed conflict. Dr. León Valencia, a prominent political activist and civil society leader led the discussion. Dr Valencia argues that it is inaccurate to portray the Colombian state simply as the victim of illegal armed groups, as some political leaders have broken with the Colombian constitution, and with the ideal of democracy.
