The Nasawat Apparel factory in Mae Sot, has a reputation for slave-like working conditions, Nasawat employees tried to organize a strike in December 2001, because they had not been paid for three months. Their employer responded by calling the police and five workers leaders were arrested and deported back to Burma, The remaining 360 workers were forcefully evicted from the temple where they had taken refuge. The photograph shows one group being taken to Thai Immigration holding pens before deportation.
