Internally displaced people in the DRC
Families on the move in 2009. Internally displaced people (IDPs) coming in from surrounding regions of North Kivu to seek shelter in Goma. At the time of photographing, there were around a dozen IDP camps. In some of these camps the population exceeds 20,000 people coming and going under watchful eyes of Congolese soldiers and the UN force - MONUC.
