This two-day conference examined the implications
of the recent expansion of the EU upon asylum
and migration in both the policies and practices
of sending, receiving and transit states. The
conference was jointly organised by the Czech
Helsinki Committee, the Human Rights Education
Centre, Charles
University at Prague, and the Refugee
Studies Centre, University of Oxford in the
framework of project Hybrid Information Delivery
for Academics and Practitioners in the Field of
Forced Migration in Central and Eastern Europe,
funded by European
Union.

International Development Centre at Queen Elizabeth
House. Its objectives are to carry out multidisciplinary
research and teaching on the causes and consequences
of forced migration; to disseminate the results
of that research to policy makers and practitioners,

to understand the experience of forced migration
from the point of view of the affected
populations.
